Help Center: Scales
What are the scales used for?
The scales are designed to check the weight of any products. They are characterized by precise and accurate measurement displayed on a clear display. They are equipped with a number of useful functions, which not only facilitate work, but also affect the simplicity and ease of use. They are made of high quality strong steel, which ensures durability and strength. They are ideal for industrial use on production halls, warehouses and stores.
What types of scales are there?
Depending on the application, the scales can be divided into several categories:
- Store scales – This is the most common type of scales used in commerce – they are usually not very large devices with a weighing range of up to about 40 kg. They are usually used for weighing foodstuffs or other small items that are found in retail. They have a special tray on which products are placed to check their weight
- Laboratory scales– Small devices, which are characterized by high weighing precision, reaching up to 1/100 gram. They are most often found in the pharmaceutical industry and laboratories, where high precision measurement of ingredients counts.
- Platform scales – are characterized by a low-profile, metal and sturdy measuring platform and a control panel with an indicator. These scales have been designed for weighing bulky and heavy products, from a few tens of kilograms to even several tons
- Pallet scales – Specialized scales that most often come as an attachable module to a forklift. They replace the forks in the forklift and, during handling, are able to weigh the weight of a pallet together with the goods placed on it. These scales are very often used in warehouses and shipping and logistics companies
- Hook scales – These are suspended devices equipped with a special hook, on which objects are suspended using handles, ropes, chains, slings, etc. Thanks to the suspension, they can work with various types of cranes, overhead cranes and other goods handling equipment. They are ideal for manufacturing, storage, transportation enterprises and farms
How does the scale work?
The way the scale works depends on its type.
The way a hook scale works
Hook scales are used for suspension by means of a sturdy sling made of steel. After suspending the scale in a convenient place, the equipment should be started with a dedicated button. The scale is ready for operation when the display shows a value of 0. If the displayed value is different, use the TARE or ZERO button. Products are weighed by hanging them on a special steel hook. The scale is equipped with a special tensile-sensitive sensor, which allows you to make a precise measurement. The result is displayed on a clear and easy-to-read LCD display.
How the platform scale works
The scale is equipped with a metal platform on which products are placed for weighing. The weighing system has strain gauge force transducers that measure the pressure exerted on the surface, and stored algorithms convert the value, displaying the result on the display in kilograms or pounds.
How a store scale works
The store scale has a metal tray on which items are placed to check their weight. Its operation has been based on electronic systems. On the frame, which is the structure of the scale, there is a measuring transducer, on which a metal weighing platform is placed. The measuring transducer deforms under the action of gravity and sends an electric signal, which is then converted by the control module and displayed on the display, as a value specified in kilograms or pounds
