What is the difference between a cash tray and a cash drawer?

Cash trays have a lid that opens upwards after turning the key in the lock, whereas in cash drawers, a mechanism responsible for opening slides out the cash insert inside. The cash drawer can be opened in three ways:

- Emergency - by using a special lever located underneath the accessory
- Electronically - after connecting it to the cash register and programming the opening command (dedicated button activating the drawer opening mechanism).
