With its compact size (49 x 21 mm) and durable FR4 (PCB) material, the tag performs reliably on metal surfaces and off them — offering a reading range of up to 8 cm on metal and up to 5 cm off metal. The Tag-Icode-4921-20 is built to withstand the harshest conditions. Its IP68 protection rating means it is fully sealed against dust and water immersion. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +100°C and a storage temperature range of -40°C to +150°C, it performs reliably in extreme industrial environments — whether on a factory floor, in cold storage, or outdoor applications. The tag is also RoHS and CE certified.
The NXP I CODE-SLI-X chip inside the tag provides 1024 bits of memory with support for up to 100,000 write cycles and data retention of up to 50 years. The tag can be mounted using its two 3 mm holes or attached via adhesive, making it easy to integrate into existing asset tracking, inventory management, or access control workflows using standard 13.56 MHz / ISO 15693 RFID readers.

Standard RFID tags typically fail completely on metal due to signal interference, whereas this tag is specifically engineered to counteract that effect.
Yes. The tag operates at 13.56 MHz and supports the ISO 15693 standard used by NXP I CODE-SLI-X chips. Most modern smartphones with NFC support ISO 15693 reading, making it possible to scan the tag with a phone. However, the effective range with a phone may be shorter than with a dedicated RFID reader.
Yes. The tag supports up to 100,000 write cycles, making it fully reusable. Data is retained for up to 50 years without power, so the tag is well-suited for long-term asset labelling applications.
