The Tag-U8-9018 is a flexible UHF RFID tag made from durable TPU material, designed for asset tracking on non-metallic surfaces. Its flexibility allows it to conform easily to round or irregular shapes — cylindrical containers, plastic pipes, helmets, and even trees. With a reading range of up to 5 m using a handheld reader and up to 7.5 m with a stationary reader, the Tag-U8-9018 delivers excellent performance across the full UHF range of 840–960 MHz. It is compatible with all standard UHF RFID readers and is well-suited for inventory management, logistics, and asset tracking in challenging outdoor or industrial settings.
The Tag-U8-9018 carries an IP68 protection rating, making it fully waterproof and suitable for marine operations, outdoor logistics, and other wet or dusty environments. Operating temperature range spans from –40°C to +100°C, covering extreme cold storage as well as high-temperature industrial applications. Data retention is guaranteed for up to 50 years, with 100,000 write cycles per tag.
Each tag uses the proven Alien Higgs-3 chip with 96-bit EPC memory (expandable to 480 bits), 512-bit USER memory, and 64-bit TID. This makes the Tag-U8-9018 suitable for applications requiring permanent identification, serialisation, and custom data encoding directly on the tag.

No — the Tag-U8-9018 is designed for non-metallic surfaces. Metal detuned the antenna and significantly reduces read range. For metal surfaces, use an on-metal UHF RFID tag designed with a spacer layer.
With a handheld UHF reader you can typically read the Tag-U8-9018 from up to 5 m. A stationary reader with a higher-gain antenna extends this to up to 7.5 m, making it suitable for gate-based inventory counts or conveyor line tracking.
Yes. The Alien Higgs-3 chip supports 100,000 write cycles, so the tag can be reprogrammed many times. Data is retained for up to 50 years without power.
