The SecureEntry-CR40 is a robust outdoor RFID reader built for access control applications. Housed in a durable metal enclosure rated IP66, it provides full protection against dust ingress and powerful water jets, making it suitable for permanent outdoor installation on walls, door frames, and gate posts. The reader operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +60°C and withstands humidity from 10% to 95%, delivering reliable access control performance in any weather conditions. The SecureEntry-CR40 reads 125 kHz RFID proximity cards and key fobs (EM standard chips) at a range of up to 3 cm. Its Wiegand 26 interface allows straightforward integration with virtually any access controller, door controller, or time and attendance recorder. When wired to an electromagnetic lock or electric strike, the reader operates as a building entry access point — presenting a valid card instantly triggers the locking mechanism. The same reader can simultaneously feed card data to a time attendance recorder for workforce management.
Unlike plastic readers, the SecureEntry-CR40 features a high-quality metal housing that resists mechanical impact, UV exposure, and corrosion. The IP66 protection rating ensures complete sealing against dust and protection against strong water jets — perfectly suited for entrances, parking barriers, warehouse gates, and industrial facilities. Its compact cylindrical profile (105 × 20 mm) and low weight (180 g) allow discreet mounting with the included studs and screws, leaving a minimal footprint next to any door or gate.

The SecureEntry-CR40 is a reader only — it reads the card UID and forwards it via Wiegand 26 to a separate access controller or time attendance recorder. It does not make access decisions independently and does not store user data. You need a compatible Wiegand-capable controller to define and enforce access rules.
The reader supports standard 125 kHz proximity cards and key fobs based on EM standard chips (EM4100 and compatible). These are among the most widely used proximity credentials available. Cards operating at 13.56 MHz (Mifare, HID iCLASS, DESFire) are not supported.
Yes. A common setup places the SecureEntry-CR40 outdoors at a building entrance and connects it via the Wiegand 26 cable to a time attendance recorder installed indoors. Employees badge in at the outdoor reader and the data — card UID and timestamp — is processed by the indoor device for attendance reporting.
For Wiegand 26 installations the recommended maximum cable length is typically up to 150 m using shielded cable (e.g. 6-core 0.5 mm²). For longer distances use a Wiegand signal repeater or consult the controller manufacturer’s guidelines.
