The ceramic UHF RFID tag U8-3030 is a solid and durable solution for tracking vehicles and containers. Made of high-quality ceramic, it resists demanding environmental conditions, which makes it work perfectly on metal surfaces. The tag operates at 865-868 MHz for Europe and 902-928 MHz for the United States, allowing data to be read from up to 10 metres with stationary readers. Standard UHF RFID tags detune severely when placed on metal — the metal plane short-circuits the antenna and the tag becomes unreadable. Ceramic tags use a dielectric spacer and a specially tuned antenna that compensates for this effect, restoring normal read range even when directly mounted on steel, aluminium or other conductive surfaces.
The Tag-U8-3030 achieves up to 7 m with a handheld UHF reader and up to 10 m with a fixed/stationary reader when mounted on metal. Actual range depends on reader output power, antenna gain, and orientation — always verify in your specific environment.
