The SolidHand-AL01 is a steel laptop tray mounted directly on the arm of a monitor mount. Instead of taking up the desktop, the laptop is raised to screen height and set beside the monitor, which gives you a comfortable dual-display workstation and frees up the whole desk surface underneath.

The stand is sturdy and is also fairly easy to fit (I mounted it on a SolidHand-AL01 monitor arm). What is rather fiddly, however, is fitting the laptop onto the tablet and removing it again. The springs on the side clamps are quite strong; in a way, this is an advantage because once the laptop is in place, it’s held securely, but the manoeuvre of holding the laptop whilst simultaneously prying the side clamps apart is really fiddly (make sure you hold the laptop firmly so as not to drop it).
