The HDWR HD7800 is a wireless barcode and QR code scanner made for work that happens away from the computer. The radio link runs through the bundled USB receiver and reaches up to 100 metres in open space, so you can walk deep into the warehouse, onto the loading bay or between the racks and keep collecting codes. The sturdy housing survives drops from 1.5 m and carries an IP54 rating against dust and splashing water.
The CMOS 2D imaging engine reads up to 300 codes per second — a sweep of the beam across the label is enough, with no aiming and no waiting. It handles every common 1D symbology (EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Codabar) and 2D codes (QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, MaxiCode). Each successful read is confirmed by an audible beep and an LED indicator, clear even in a noisy hall.
Wireless communication works through the USB receiver supplied in the set — plug it into a port and the scanner is ready. There is no Bluetooth pairing and no drivers to install. In open space the link reaches 100 metres; inside a hall full of racks and walls the range is shorter, but still covers an entire picking zone without walking back to the workstation. A 150 cm USB cable charges the scanner and, when needed, connects it by wire.
The HD7800 works in two modes. In real-time mode every scan goes straight to the connected computer. In storage mode the scanner writes codes into its built-in memory and holds them until you are back in range — then the whole batch is uploaded at once. That is what makes stocktaking across a large warehouse possible with a single device. Advanced programming lets you set any character as a prefix or a suffix, so the scanner fits an existing system without reworking the data.
