The Tag-H3-M16 is an ultra-durable RFID UHF tag designed for asset tracking in the most demanding industrial environments. Built from damage-resistant steel, it takes the form of a standard M16 bolt — it screws directly into metal surfaces just like a fastener, providing a permanent, tamper-resistant installation with no adhesive or bracket required. Operating at 865–868 MHz (EU) and 902–928 MHz (US), it delivers a reading range of up to 120 cm with a handheld reader and up to 200 cm with a stationary reader. Installing the Tag-H3-M16 is as simple as tightening a bolt. The tag threads directly into a pre-drilled M16 hole in any metal asset — a machine chassis, a gas cylinder, a pipeline flange, or a heavy-duty vehicle part. Once installed, the tag becomes a structural part of the object: it cannot be peeled off, fall off, or be accidentally removed. This makes it the preferred choice wherever tag permanence and physical security are critical requirements.
Rated IP68, the Tag-H3-M16 withstands complete and prolonged immersion in water, as well as exposure to dust, oil, chemicals, and steam. Its operating temperature range of -40°C to +100°C covers virtually every industrial scenario — from cold storage and outdoor winter use to foundry-adjacent environments. The Alien Higgs-3 chip provides a large memory bank (EPC up to 480 bits, USER 512 bits) and guarantees 100,000 write cycles with data retention of up to 50 years, ensuring the tag outlasts the assets it tracks.

Adhesive and screw-on label tags can peel off under heat, vibration, moisture, or mechanical contact — especially on metal surfaces. The bolt-shaped Tag-H3-M16 is mechanically fastened into the asset itself, making it impossible to accidentally remove and immune to surface contamination. It is the right choice whenever tag permanence is a legal, safety, or compliance requirement.
The Tag-H3-M16 is compatible with any standard UHF RFID reader operating in the 865–868 MHz band (EU) or 902–928 MHz band (US) and supporting the EPC Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C protocol. Both fixed (stationary) readers and handheld UHF RFID readers from HDWR and other manufacturers work with this tag.
Yes. The Tag-H3-M16 is specifically designed for on-metal use. The bolt construction inherently integrates with the metal asset, and the antenna design compensates for the detuning effect that metal has on standard RFID labels. Reading performance on metal is fully within the specified range (up to 120 cm handheld, up to 200 cm stationary).
