The Tag-U8-3002 is a rugged UHF RFID tag engineered for use in the harshest industrial environments, including high temperatures, exposure to acids, alkalis, and ultrasonic cleaning processes. Made from durable PEEK material, it withstands operating temperatures up to 150°C and storage temperatures up to 250°C. With an IP68/IP69K protection rating and compression strength of 150 MPa, the U8-3002 excels in automotive, oil & gas, and mining applications. Its read range of up to 6 metres and compact dimensions (41 × 29 × 11.8 mm) make it a reliable choice for tracking assets on metal surfaces in demanding environments. PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is an engineering polymer renowned for exceptional resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, and steam. Unlike stainless steel tags, the U8-3002 does not corrode and retains its mechanical properties after prolonged exposure to aggressive cleaning agents. The tag survives ultrasonic cleaning cycles that are standard in automotive and medical component manufacturing. Its compression resistance of 150 MPa ensures the tag is not crushed by heavy machinery or clamping fixtures, while the four 2.3 mm mounting holes allow secure permanent attachment to tools, jigs, and parts.
The U8-3002 operates in the UHF band: 865–868 MHz (EU) and 902–928 MHz (US), enabling long-range, non-contact identification. Powered by the NXP UCODE 8 chip with 128-bit EPC memory and 96-bit TID, it supports up to 100,000 write cycles and retains data for up to 50 years. Its on-metal antenna design achieves a read range of up to 3 m with a handheld reader and up to 6 m with a fixed reader, making it suitable for automated tracking gates and inventory management in areas with metal interference.
Tag-U8-3002 RFID tag × 1.
Yes. The PEEK material and IP69K rating make the U8-3002 suitable for ultrasonic cleaning processes used in automotive and industrial manufacturing. The tag maintains full functionality after repeated cleaning cycles.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +150°C. During storage, the tag tolerates temperatures from -60°C to +250°C. This makes it suitable for paint curing ovens, autoclaves, and high-temperature manufacturing lines.
Yes. The U8-3002 is specifically designed for mounting on metal surfaces. Its on-metal antenna compensates for the signal-dampening effect of metal, delivering a read range of up to 3 m (handheld) and 6 m (fixed reader) even when directly attached to metallic parts.
Typical applications include automotive (tracking metal components through wash and paint processes), oil & gas (asset tracking in corrosive environments), mining (equipment identification under mechanical stress), and any industry requiring chemically resistant, long-life asset labels.
