The HDWR HD-SM820 is a high-quality embeddable scanning module designed for integration into kiosks, turnstiles, vending machines and custom installations. Built with a CMOS sensor (640 x 480 px), the module reads all major 1D and 2D barcodes including QR codes from both paper labels and LCD/LED/OLED screens. Additionally, the built-in NFC antenna enables reading 13.56 MHz RFID tags from cards, key fobs and stickers.
The HD-SM820 scans codes automatically — simply place a barcode within the scanning window and it is read instantly, with no button press needed. The module supports programmable suffix characters appended to each scanned code, simplifying integration with your system. The RS232 interface ensures reliable communication with industrial controllers, POS terminals and embedded systems. Compact dimensions of just 61 x 65 x 26 mm and a weight of only 40 g make it easy to embed in tight spaces. Dedicated mounting holes simplify installation.
